A poem by Dylan Welsh
(with apologies to Shel Silverstein)

WHAT IF
As I lay asleep in my bed,
Some Whatifs came & polluted my head.
They sang of nothing but filthy gore,
They sang as I awoke & plead no more.
''What if I die in a storm,
What if someone knocks me out with chloroform?
What if I get thrashed by moonshiners,
What if I grow old & get Alzheimer's?
What if I accidentally drink something fatally toxic,
What if I turn out to be anorexic?
What if I forget to pay back money to a loan shark,
What if I adapt to the dark?
What if someone ships me off to Guam,
What if someone chains me to a nuclear bomb?

News notes:
I sent each family a pair of updated wallet cards with everyone's current phone, cell phone and address.  Didn't anyone get them?

Dylan and Brenna were the first to visit us in the new house in Rocklin.  They were on their way to visit their Dad.  We toured the backyard and the preserve area behind the house.  Click here for photos.

Aunt Mary Kate, Uncle Scott and family are planning a summer visit to California sometime around the first week of July.  Mark your calendars.

Seamus earned the second stripe on his Karate belt last month.  Frances is selling Girl Scout cookies like hot cakes.  The little ones are charming and dear.
